An Evening of Romantic Music

Enjoy “An Evening of Romantic Music” being hosted by the Division of Fine Arts at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia on February 14, 2012 at 7 PM. For Valentine’s Day, Dr. Richard Knepp, the Assistant Professor of Music,  will be performing romantic melodies on the classical guitar.

Dr. Knepp is currently the head of the guitar program at Young Harris College. He studied under the acclaimed guitar instructor John Sutherland and has performed with some of the world’s leading classical guitarists.

Showtime with Elvis

You won’t want to miss Showtime with Elvis at the Hiawassee Senior Center in Hiawassee, Georgia on September 17, 2011. Joey Trites, coming direct to you from Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, will be the Elvis of the evening. Along with his performance, you will be served a delectable spaghetti dinner.

Acapalooza – Standing Room Only

Young Harris College is hosting two performances of Acapalooza-Standing Room Only on March 25 and 26, 2011. The Compulsive Lyres, a 12 voice men’s a cappella group and Southern Harmony, a 12 voice women’s a cappella group will join together to perform original arrangements of some popular songs along with songs that explore recent trends in choral music. The show will also include some moving spiritual songs. The concert on Friday, March 25 will also include a performance by Union County High School Men’s Ensemble and Women’s Ensemble. Saturday, March 26 will include a performance by Notoriety, an a cappella group from Towns County High School.

The concert will be held in the Susan B. Harris Chapel at Young Harris College at 7 PM. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children. Tickets will be sold at the door. Don Williams in Concert

Get your tickets for award winning country music legend, Don Williams in concert at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on March 26, 2011. He began his solo career in 1971 and has had many top ten hits like “We Should Be Together” and “I Wouldn’t Want to Live if You Didn’t Love Me”. Out of 46 singles, only 4 of them did not make it to top ten. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

Charlie Daniels in Concert

You won’t want to miss The Charlie Daniels Band in concert at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on March 5, 2011 at 7 PM. With a career that has spanned decades, The Charlie Daniels Band is recognized by country fans, rock and roll fans, and just fans of music in general. They have had so many hits throughout the years that it would be hard to name all of them but most people will recognize “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “Uneasy Rider” no matter what musical taste they have.

Bill Medley in Concert

Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers will be in concert on January 22, 2011. The concert will be held at the Anderson Music Hall at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Bill Medley is best known as one half of the Righteous Brothers although he has had a solo career that has spanned over 40 years. The Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and their hit “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin” is the most played song in the history of American radio.
