Georgia Mountain Fall Festival

Fall DecorationGet ready for the 2011 Georgia Mountain Fall Festival at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, Georgia on October 7 through 15, 2011. This will be a 9 day event filled with many different musical artists, craft exhibits, kids’ activities, a flower show, and the annual State Fiddlers Convention.

Schedule will be as follows:

Friday, October 7
2 PM – Jim Wood and the Georgia Mountain Fair Band
3 PM and 6:30 PM – Percy Sledge
8 PM – Country Music Show (Open invitation to anyone who wants to perform)

Saturday, October 8
2 PM – Jim Wood and the Georgia Mountain Fair Band
3 PM and 7 PM – Ricky Skaggs
8 PM – Jim Wood and the Georgia Mountain Fair Band along with artists chosen from Friday night’s performances.

Sunday, October 9
11 AM – Interfaith Service with The Diplomats
2 PM – Gospel music with The Isaacs, Chuck Wagon Gang, and The Diplomats

Monday, October 10
2 PM and 7 PM – Redhead Express and Gene Watson

Tuesday, October 11

Along with all the musical entertainment comes much more fun including educational demonstrations, Thomas the trackless train, face painting, Water Treaders, a Living Statue, and Stilt Walkers. General admission is $10 except Saturday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 12.
Saturday, October 8 admission is $5 gate admission and $7 per music show.
Wednesday, October 12 is Customer Appreciation Day. Everyone is admitted for $9.

Summer’s Last Kiss

Art PaletteSummer’s Last Kiss on the square in Hiawassee, Georgia is going to be a wonderful art show and so much more! This Affair with the Arts will take place on September 24 and 25, 2011. There will be art exhibits, crafts, music, dancing, poetry, and food.

Festival hours will be Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, 12 PM to 5 PM. Stay in town on Saturday evening for the Street Dance that will begin at 8 PM. Admission is Free!

Young Harris Art Fest

ArtDon’t miss the Young Harris Art Fest at Mayors Park in Young Harris, Georgia on August 27 and 28, 2011 from 10 AM to 5 PM. This will be 2 days of fun with live music, many arts and crafts vendors, fresh local produce, and a canning and baking competition for all ages with ribbons and recognition in the local newspaper for the winners.

Admission and parking is free so come on out and spend the day, enjoy some delicious food, and take home some unique art.

2011 Moonshine Cruize-In

The 2011 Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruize-In is set for August 11, 12, and 13, 2011. It will be held at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. Make sure to mark your calendars for this car show/music festival as this year is sure to be as exciting as 2010′s was. This event is in the planning stages now so stay tuned for more details.

Annual Wine Harvest Festival

GrapesVisit Crane Creek Vineyards on October 23, 2010 to help them celebrate this year’s grape harvest with their annual Harvest Festival. There will be lots of fun for the whole family with hay rides, grape stomping, tours of the winery and activities for the kids at the kid’s tent. The event gets under way at 11 AM and runs until 6 PM.

Admission to the festival is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 13 – 20, 12 and under is Free. Included in the ticket price is lunch, admission to all activities, wine tasting, and a souvenir wine glass. Call 706-379-1236 for more details and information.

Georgia Mountain Fall Festival

Fall ScarecrowTake advantage of the beautiful fall weather and visit the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds for the 2010 Georgia Mountain Fall Festival going on from October 8 – 16, 2010. It will be 9 entertaining days of fun and a great lineup of music. Every day will offer a different Country Music or Gospel show. There will be arts and crafts exhibits, a flower show, as well as a pioneer village and authentic mountain arts demonstrations. You can enter to compete for cash prizes in 12 different categories in Georgia’s Official State Fiddler’s Convention that will be taking place on October 15 – 16. You can even see divers swimming with sharks in the Live Shark Encounter.

The fairgrounds will be open weekdays and Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM, Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.
