This will be 2 days of fun with live music, many arts and crafts vendors, fresh local produce, and a canning and baking competition for all ages with ribbons and recognition in the local newspaper for the winners.

6th Annual Taste of the Southern Highlands

This ultimate “Mountain Tasting Experience” lets local restaurants and wineries showcase their delectable fare. Purchasing a ticket allows you to get a sample from any or all of the restaurants and wineries represented. There will also be musical entertainment brought to you by local talent.

The event is from 6 PM to 8 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults, $7 for children 6 – 12, and 5 and under is Free. 6th Annual Mountain Fling Arts and Crafts Show

Arts and Crafts ShowDon’t miss the 6th Annual Mountain Fling Arts and Crafts Show at the North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville, Georgia on June 25 and 26, 2011. This will be a juried arts and crafts show with booths inside and out. There will be even more this year as a new garden section has been added with potted plants and garden decor.

Easter EggsBring your children to the Towns County Recreation Dept. ball fields on Highway 76 in Hiawassee, Georgia on April 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM for a fun morning searching for Easter eggs! Over 300o eggs will be hidden for them to find. There will be 2 age divisions – 4, 5, 6 year olds and 7, 8, 9 year olds. Children 3 and under can enjoy a special activity with the Easter Bunny.

Cosmic Laser Concert

Experience a spectacular display of laser lights dancing and stars spinning to an engaging soundtrack of music at the Rollins Planetarium located at Young Harris College in nearby Young Harris, Georgia. This fantastic cosmic laser concert can be seen on April 1, 8, and 15, 2011. Showtimes are 7 PM and 8 PM.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children and non YHC students, YHC students, faculty, and staff are Free.

Warning – This show contains loud music, flashing lights and other effects that may bother some people. If you find things of this nature disturbing, it is recommended that you do not attend.
