The Little Star that Could

Bring the whole family out to the Rollins Planetarium at Young Harris College in nearby Young Harris, Georgia for the delightful children’s show, The Little Star that Could. This show tells a story of a little star in search of planets of his own. He meets new stars along the way and eventually finds his own planets. It teaches children about the solar system in a way that makes learning fun and easy to understand.
This special Kid’s Night is on March 18, 2011 at 8 PM. Ticket are $3 for adults, $2 for children and non-YHC students, YHC students and faculty are Free. Contact 800-241-3754 for more information.

Charlie Daniels in Concert

You won’t want to miss The Charlie Daniels Band in concert at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on March 5, 2011 at 7 PM. With a career that has spanned decades, The Charlie Daniels Band is recognized by country fans, rock and roll fans, and just fans of music in general. They have had so many hits throughout the years that it would be hard to name all of them but most people will recognize “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “Uneasy Rider” no matter what musical taste they have.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be presented in the Dobbs Theatre at Young Harris College on February 17 – 20 and 24 – 26, 2011. This play is a Shakespeare comedy that connects 3 different stories together through the celebration of a wedding. There is love, fairy magic, manipulations, and mistaken identity set mainly in the woodlands.
Showtimes are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 PM, Sunday matinee is at 2 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and faculty and can be purchased at the Young Harris College Box Office or online. The Box Office opens 2 weeks prior to opening night and is open Monday – Friday 3 – 5 PM. For more information contact 706-379-4307.
